A ruling this week by a judge in Austin, Texas, ended a three-year legal fight by so-called "floaters," horse dentists who objected to a 2006 rule change by the state's Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners that limited equine dental care to veterinarians. The judge said Wednesday that the new rule violated state laws, leaving floaters free to resume their work.
