Wind farms off the East Coast from New York to New England could provide the U.S. with nearly 213 gigawatts of clean energy, according to a report. With offshore drilling in the region banned through at least 2017, conservationists say eastern states and the federal government should focus on encouraging the development of the region's wind resources. "In our energy crisis, this could be what we need to solve the problem," says environmental analyst Jessica O'Hare.
