The Environmental Protection Agency on Thursday extended the deadline for company submissions of greenhouse-gas-emissions reports to Sept. 30. Industry groups, including the American Chemistry Council, welcomed the delay of the initial March 31 deadline for such reporting requirements. "This extension will allow EPA to further test the system that facilities will use to submit data and give industry the opportunity to test the tool, provide feedback, and have sufficient time to become familiar with the tool prior to reporting," the EPA said in a statement.
