More than half of auditors from a range of industries said a majority of clients aren't up to snuff when it comes to data-security compliance, according to a survey from Ponemon Institute. Applications, computer hardware and vendors, including cloud-service providers, are among the most vulnerable. Nearly two-thirds of auditors said clients are skeptical about the importance of compliance to improving data security.
