San Diego Gas & Electric has reached a deal with The Utility Reform Network and the California Division of Ratepayer Advocates to allow the Rim Rock wind project in Montana to proceed, the utility said. Under the deal, SDG&E agreed to reduce the wind farm's capacity to 189 megawatts, limit ratepayer investment to $250 million and stop building out of state to obtain renewable-energy credits until 2019. The utility also agreed to invest 10% of shareholder money into Rim Rock, said Matt Freedman, an attorney for TURN.
