Preliminary experiments with surface acoustic ultrasound waves have shown promise for wound healing, according to podiatrist Dr. Jonathan Rosenblum, who said he plans to launch controlled trials of the technology. According to research, this type of ultrasound wave potentially affects the migration of neutrophils and epithelial cells, and may increase the uptake of systemic gentamicin in pseudomonas biofilms, Rosenblum said.
