A study of 855 heart patients found that those who were overweight and less physically fit were about seven times more likely to die, while those who were overweight but fit were only twice as likely to die compared with a control group. The risk of dying rose tenfold for those who were normal weight but unfit, and only threefold for those who were obese but fit, the study in the American Heart Journal found.
