Jamba Juice's recent announcement that it has signed tennis star Serena Williams as its most famous franchisee is the latest in a string of celebrity franchisee deals that goes back at least to 1998 when Magic Johnson signed a deal to lend his name to a TGI Friday's in California. Since then, celebrity franchisees have continued to make headlines for the brands they represent, from Jimmy Buffett's deal in 2000 to build Florida Krispy Kreme stores to Kanye West's 2008 contract to introduce Fatburger stores in Chicago.
