The Dubai building that has come to be known as "the Swiss cheese" boasts an eco-friendly design lacking in most of the steel-and-glass towers in the desert city. The concrete exterior wall punched with holes pulls cool air in and traps it in the space between the wall and the building, while pushing hot air up and out. The "Swiss cheese" effect has helped the building cut energy costs by 30%.
