National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases has awarded Immunetics a three-year, $2.4 million grant to support clinical trials of its immunoblot test for Chagas disease. The test is being developed to detect antibodies to the parasitic disease. Trials will involve the Blood Systems Research Institute, the American Red Cross and the CDC, said Andrew Levin, the company's president and scientific director.
