Ten sets of Michigan parents have filed a lawsuit in federal court, claiming the state has failed to provide medical subsidies for their adopted children who have special needs. The case -- which seeks class-action status -- cites a number of obstacles for families seeking reimbursement of medical care, including bureaucratic delays, interference with residential placements and refusals by the state to pay for services.
