Last year, Houston's three airports used Bluetooth technology to track travelers as they moved through the airports. Officials say the goal of the study, which was conducted with Purdue University, is to improve the airport experience for travelers. Nine sensors were used at Bush Intercontinental Airport.
"We were trying to demonstrate that not only were we capturing the wait time through the checkpoint, but then how long it took the passenger to get through the checkpoint and actually out to one of the gate concourses," Project Manager Darryl Daniel said.
