Quad County Corn Processors, which runs an ethanol plant in Galva, Iowa, has secured a $1.45 million state grant for the installation of a bolt-on cellulosic-ethanol facility. The facility will use the leftover material from the distillation process to produce cellulosic ethanol, said Delayne Johnson, general manager of Quad County Corn Processors. The project is expected to cost about $6.5 million and is scheduled for completion by next fall if construction starts in the spring, Johnson said.
