Upgrading the world's power generation and distribution networks to increase efficiency is the wave of the future, but there's no single answer to the question of what that future grid will look like and do, writes Aliza Sherman. To get one version, Sherman turns to EcoFactor's Scott Hublou, who says the smart grid needs to incorporate an energy-storage solution that saves surplus power for peak-demand hours. He also says it needs automated efficiency monitoring at the customer location and ample private-sector sponsorship.
