Data on 3,615 participants found that those who said they drank more than 34 ounces of water daily were 21% less likely to experience hyperglycemia in the ensuing nine years than those who said they drank 16 ounces or less a day. The findings presented at the annual meeting of the American Diabetes Association suggest that drinking sufficient amounts of water may prevent high blood glucose levels in high-risk patients, French researchers said.
