The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement released a final Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement of a proposed lease sale in the western Gulf of Mexico. "The analysis contained in this Final SEIS incorporates new research and reflects broad public input on the environmental effects of oil and gas operations in the Gulf of Mexico," Michael Bromwich, director of BOEMRE, said in a statement. Up to 423 million barrels of oil and 2.7 trillion cubic feet of natural gas could be produced from the lease sale, according to regulators' estimates.
