Budweiser changed the design of its beer can for the first time since 2001 and the 12th time since 1936, when the beer was first sold in a can. The redesigned can has more red and includes the bow tie that previously appeared only on bottles. "The bow tie and the prominence of the bow tie came through both for current drinkers and for potential drinkers as just a powerful symbol of the quality and heritage and authenticity of the brand," said a Budweiser executive.
