The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, in partnership with the Voices of Meningitis, on Monday urged parents to see that their children are protected against meningitis through vaccinations for preteens and booster doses for those age 16. "All vaccinations have a risk, but to me the risk of not getting the vaccination and getting this disease is unacceptable," said Dr. Chris Urbina, executive director of the state health department.
