The Fox network will produce a series called "Cosmos: A Space-Time Odyssey," based on a 1980 PBS documentary series of a similar name. The creative team will include Seth MacFarlane, the creator of the network's ribald cartoon show "Family Guy," and Ann Druyan, the widow of Carl Sagan, show host of 1980's "Cosmos: A Personal Voyage." Druyan approached Fox because "we weren't interested in going to the audience that already knew that it loved science ... We wanted to go to the largest possible audience and attract people who'd never even thought about it," she said.
