University of Regina geography professor David Sauchyn and a team of researchers have received $1.25 million from the Canadian government to study climate change in Alberta and Saskatchewan. During a five-year period, they plan to talk to farmers about ways to mitigate the damage that comes with extreme weather and to work to determine whether global warming is playing a role. "Every time there is a weather disaster, the media tends to attribute it to global warming, but scientists are not that certain," Sauchyn said.
