The Andalusian government in southern Spain is being criticized for a slow investigation into improper olive oil labeling. The government began its investigation in November after tests showed 15 of 24 batches of analyzed olive oil did not match the labeling, generally being sold illegitimately as extra virgin or virgin. A government official said preliminary results show that improper preservation is to blame in most instances.
