A traveler passed through the security checkpoint at the airport in Albany, N.Y., with a pair of scissors with five-inch blades. A Transportation Security Administration spokeswoman said Keeler should have voluntarily surrendered the scissors once he discovered them. However, she also said scissors "will not cause catastrophic damage on an aircraft" even though they are a prohibited item.
