The American Hospital Association criticized health care provisions in President Barack Obama's $3.6 trillion deficit-reduction plan.
The proposal relies on spending cuts and tax increases aimed at corporations and wealthy people.
"Funding cuts would mean decreased access to care for our nation's seniors and could overload emergency rooms, shut down trauma units and
reduce patient access to the latest treatments," said AHA President and CEO Rich Umbdenstock.
