The Digital Entertainment Content Ecosystem consortium's UltraViolet technology, which will enable digital content to play on a variety of products, could be attractive to consumers if it delivers on its promise of a "frictionless" experience in home media, said Ed Barton, director of the Digital Media Service at Strategy Analytics.
