The California Energy Commission has allotted $24 million to fund the expansion of propane autogas and natural gas vehicles in the state, along with the construction of the necessary infrastructure to support the vehicles. Also, the commission allocated nearly $30 million for biofuels expansion, $8.5 million for hydrogen fuel and fuel cell technology, and $8 million each for electric-vehicles infrastructure and energy-efficiency improvements for heavy-duty and medium-duty vehicles. The funding is part of the $100 million budget for the state's Alternative and Renewable Fuel and Vehicle Technology Program.
