A $1 million renovation of the cafeteria at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Mich., is finished, so diners now have a sushi bar, five fresh-to-order food stations, a color-coded system to help them select healthy options and nutrition facts listed on menu boards. Hospital officials say that since many people eating at the cafe are staffers, they hope the nutrition focus will lead to healthier employees, lower absenteeism and savings on health insurance.
