Data from the Nurses' Health Study and the Health Professionals Follow-up Study found that the long-term use of nonaspirin, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, such as ibuprofen, may elevate the risk of developing kidney cancer. Researchers said the odds of having the disease were 36% higher in those who used nonaspirin NSAIDs for four to 10 years and three times higher among those who took the drugs for longer than a decade, researchers wrote in the Archives of Internal Medicine.
