Despite another tumultuous year for the economy, U.S. consumers are expected to spend $6.9 billion celebrating Halloween this year, an increase from last year and double what they said they'd spend in 2005, according to a survey from NRF and BIGresearch. "Eager to shake off the summer heat and forget about the economy for a few days, Americans are looking forward to having some fun this Halloween," said NRF President and CEO Matthew Shay.
