The AAP released its updated guidelines for diagnosing and treating children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, recommending that all patients aged 4 to 18 years old who show symptoms of the condition be evaluated. Previous recommendations focused on the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD in children aged 6 to 12 years old, but researchers said that behavior disorders, attention problems and over-activity can manifest at an earlier age and persist until adolescence or adulthood.
