A new mobile app developed by Carnegie Mellon University's Information Networking Institute and the nonprofit group Web Wise Kids aims to keep students safe while using social media in a school setting. The free app, BeSeen, uses a video-game format to simulate common social-networking situations, challenging students to address issues such as bullying and online privacy protection. The app is available today for Apple products and will be released for Android devices in December.
