Within the next five years, every car rolling off the assembly line will be connected to a wireless network, compared with 5% of vehicles today, according to Glenn Lurie, president of AT&T Emerging Devices. Lurie said last week at a CTIA event that connected cars and the business models that grow up around them will represent a "watershed" for the auto business, and a potential boon for accessory makers and service providers. Lurie further highlighted his division's mission to drive development and collaboration with events such as "robot day," and said he envisions a fully networked future.
