Slightly more than half of U.S. tablet owners access news daily on their device, but only 14% of this group have paid for news content, according to a survey by the Pew Research Center and The Economist. The study found that 21% would spend $5 per month on news content if their favorite outlet were available by subscription only. The study also found that about a third of owners are reading more news than before and accessing additional sources.
