Parent behavior training programs are effective for improving the conduct of children younger than 6 years old with symptoms of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, according to a study conducted on behalf of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. The researchers found ADHD drugs Ritalin and Strattera were effective for controlling symptoms in children ages 6 and older, but little evidence to support the use of these drugs for children younger than 6 years old.
