Middle-aged women diagnosed with restless legs syndrome have a 1.2 times increased risk of developing high blood pressure compared with women without RLS, according to a study in the journal Hypertension. Increased frequency of RLS symptoms was significantly associated with higher systolic and diastolic blood pressures, researchers said. The results were based on data from 65,544 women ages 41 to 58 in the Nurses' Health Study.
