Emulating the success of Teach for America, Venture for America looks to recruit college graduates to begin their careers by working at startups for a couple years. The organization has received funding commitments of half a million dollars and attracted more than 700 applicants since August. "If we want to see our young people do things to help get the country back on its feet, we have to make it as easy to go work at startups in these cities as it is to work at investment and consulting firms," said founder Andrew Yang.
