A study in Diabetes Care revealed that receiving growth hormone replacement therapy in adulthood may elevate the risk of developing diabetes. Researchers studied 5,143 adults and found that 523 patients developed diabetes after six years of treatment. The patients who developed diabetes tended to be older, with higher blood pressure, waist circumference, body mass index and triglyceride concentrations than those who did not develop the disease.
