AT&T on Sunday will introduce its first smartphones with Long-Term Evolution connectivity. The HTC Vivid and the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket will run on Android 2.3 -- also known as Gingerbread -- and will include similar features: a dual-core processor, a 4.5-inch screen and an 8-megapixel camera. The Samsung phone costs $250; the Vivid costs $200. The new phones will coincide with AT&T's launch of LTE service in Boston; Washington, D.C.; Baltimore; and Athens, Ga. Also on the LTE handset front, some Verizon Wireless retailers have begun promoting the carrier's next LTE phone, the HTC Rezound.
