Tiffany & Co. doesn't make a big deal of its sustainable business practices, but it's actually an industry pioneer in CSR, says CEO Michael J. Kowalski. Tiffany has long directly sourced its rough diamonds, giving it control over its supply chain and allowing the jeweler to avoid blood diamonds and other environmental or ethical issues. "We are without a doubt the most vertically integrated jeweler in the world," Kowalski says. "That's been a strong profit driver, but it's also allowed us to exercise leadership on CSR issues."
