The U.S. should boost oil imports from Canada, rather than other foreign countries, 79% of respondents said in an American Petroleum Institute-commissioned survey. The results demonstrate that "a significant amount of Americans would like more oil from Canada to meet our energy needs ... and support government policies to encourage them," said Marty Durbin, API's executive vice president of government affairs. The poll comes as the State Department studies whether to approve TransCanada's proposed Keystone XL pipeline.
