The number of Web domains that support IPv6 has increased during the past year, with hosting service GoDaddy.com's recent transition alone making about 30 million customers' sites IPv6 compatible. Data indicate that more than a quarter of ".com," ".net" and ".org" subdomains can handle IPv6 traffic, but with less than 1% running on IPv6-enabled Web servers, experts say it could be a while before the Internet can function without legacy IPv4.
