NASA scientists have discovered a planet 600 light-years away that is strikingly similar to our own. Kepler-22 -- so named because it was discovered with NASA's Kepler Space Telescope -- is more than twice the size of Earth and, according to researchers, enjoys an average surface temperature of 72 degrees. Once the scientists confirm their findings, Kepler-22 will join 10 other planets on the NASA team's Habitable Exoplanets Catalog of planets that are near-Earth-sized and in the habitable zones of their host stars.
