A bipartisan bill to reform Medicare has been introduced by Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., and Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore. It includes a government-run Medicare plan, as opposed to the vouchers in Ryan's previous plan, and has been touted by House Speaker John Boehner of Ohio as a "step in the right direction." The White House said the bill would cause traditional Medicare to wither on the vine.
