Ohio students in grades 4-12 would be taught history using the original texts of the Declaration of Independence, Northwest Ordinance and the U.S. and state constitutions, according to a bill that cleared the state House on Tuesday. The bill also mandates more time for the study of American history and government for high-school students and requires that at least one-quarter of questions on end-of-course history exams relate to the founding documents.
