Precast concrete cells used in the construction of the $28 million, 99,000 square-foot Naval Consolidated Brig extension of the Naval Facilities Engineering Command prison building in Miramar, Calif., shortened the length of time needed to finish the expansion project. "Precast concrete was a much better product for scheduling," said Alan Petrasek, senior vice president of Clark Construction Group.
