An increase in the number of providers offering 4G Long-Term Evolution services will lead to a significant drop in the cost for access, according to a report from Tariff Consultancy, which analyzed pricing trends from about 30 providers in North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific. The group said that, based on its projections, service costs for LTE will decrease by as much as 60% by 2017.
