Fox Sports is objecting to Time Warner Cable's plans to sign the Los Angeles Dodgers to its fledgling regional sports network. Fox Sports is citing a provision in its 2004 pact for showing Dodgers games on its Prime Ticket regional sports channel that bars the team from starting a network with Time Warner, which then operated Time Warner Cable as a subsidiary. The provision, which also applied to Comcast and ESPN, was not changed in 2009 when Time Warner Cable separated from its parent, and Time Warner Cable is likely to argue that the clause should not be invoked, since the company is now a separate entity.
