Wal-Mart has rolled out a promotional campaign aimed at attracting consumers to its Vudu video-streaming service, which it acquired last year. The company is encouraging manufacturers of set-top boxes and other streaming hardware to integrate Vudu into their offerings and has installed special informational displays at its locations, a company representative said. Vudu allows users to rent or buy a selection of popular movies and television shows from Walmart.com.
