Asian women who consumed 200 milligrams or more of caffeine daily had higher estrogen levels than those who consumed less, according to a study in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. However, researchers noted that white women who drank 200 milligrams or more of caffeine had a slight lowering of estrogen levels. Genetics might explain these racial differences because of its influence on caffeine metabolism, one researcher said.
