The emergence of e-readers and other digital options hasn't dissuaded some parents and teachers from preferring print books for young children. "For the young reader, you can't beat the book with the big pages and the beautiful illustrations and the snuggling up with Mom to read a story. I don't know if you get the same visceral pleasure you would get from the book," kindergarten teacher Deborah Hughey said.
