While boomers have been eager to get their hands tablet computers, seniors have shown much less enthusiasm, according to a report from Pew Research. Part of this may be chalked up to a preference for simple e-readers, writes Laurie Orlov. But the tablet's high price and the typical senior's fixed income may be bigger factors, as well as senior wisdom that tells them the devices are more of a distracting, soon obsolete option than an enduring necessity, Orlov writes.
